Make Money Online in the Recession of 2009

You can not pick up a paper or turn on the news without hearing story after story about this recession.

Doom and Gloom stories of layoffs, bankruptcies and redundancies are everywhere. And we have NOT even seen the true impact of the millions who can no longer afford to pay their credit cards and loans – this one is going to be BIG story in 2009.

I have been actively following the US and UK financial markets since early 2007. I have seen the “credit crunch” really hit hard in so many sectors of the economy and it is set to get a lot worse in the coming months. However the economy will recover, but it is going to take at least 2 years.

BUT this is NOT a time to be afraid.

During all this pain I ALSO see LOTS of opportunities everywhere in 2009…

How is that Possible?

I love history…

History can tell you a lot about how people react in a certain set of circumstances.

For instance in the US recession of the early 80’s people took up “Network Marketing” opportunities like Amway in huge numbers. Why? Because they needed additional income due to the poor economic state of the nation at the time.

Even in the Great Depression of 1929 new businesses were started. In fact great wealth was made by many during this turbulent 10 years – but I bet you only here to doom and gloom stories from that period in history?

We have had some really good years this decade and that has lead to complacency for many. Now the recession is biting hard and people are scared – hope is in short supply.

Right now in 2009 people need extra cash… they are in trouble.

If they have just been made redundant from their place of employment getting a new Job in the current climate, and so replacing that lost income, is almost impossible.

So many are turning to the Internet to build an online business. Others are using the Internet instead as there is no real job security anymore in this current climate.

I see big opportunities in “training” online.

# Training others to market online

# Teaching others about traffic sources, strategies and techniques

# Training others to replace another stream of income

# Training others how to use eBay for profit

# Training others how to use Google Adwords

…and so much more!

The “technical barriers” to entry are MINIMAL today. It is no longer that difficult to setup a Website or Blog and sell a product or service. Even taking credits cards online has become very easy.

Even if you get stuck there are now so many places to turn for outsourcing those tasks.

But its is NOT just about Internet Marketing.

There is a much larger market in “Niche Marketing” in 2009… It may be a recession but people still spend money on hobbies and entertainment – to take their minds off how bad things are.

Creating products and services for these niche markets is going to be a profitable time for some, especially those who use a business model designed to market and sell during this recession!

Driving Online Growth in 2009

These 3 things are driving growth online in 2009:

# In the US, UK and Canada broadband adoption is now in the majority of homes

# There is no longer the resistance to using Credit Cards online that there was even a few years ago

# People are now going online to look for cheaper products and services than they can get offline

So What Next?

Take some action….

Fear can either paralyse you into in-action or spur you on to taking positive action.

The people I see taking some “real action” right NOW are those who’s backs are against the wall, financially speaking.

Perhaps they only have a few months worth of redundancy monies left in the bank. Or they are just about to be another statistic in this months corporate layoffs… BUT they are taking action, and many are turning to the Internet for help.

It’s unrealistic to expect to be making $10,000 online in your first week. But I do see folks earning between $500 to $5,000 a month within 90 days – from scratch. (Of course this all depends on their motivation and how much time they have to build their online business.)

Of course once you have learned HOW to do this yourself, there is nothing to stop you teaching others and getting paid for it…

So what is stopping you? There is NO EXCUSE now for not being online selling something!
