YouTube now has a Hi-Resolution mode!

This means YouTube creates 2 new copies of your video to suit high and low speed connections:

1) 448 x 336 pixels using Flash 7 video @ 900Kbps with audio @ 44.1KHz Mono.
2) 480 x 360 pixels using H.264 video @ 512Kbps with audio @ 44.1KHz Stereo.

YouTube current video upload recommended settings are:

- MPEG4
- 640 x 480 resolution
- 64k Mono or 128k Stereo MP3 audio
- 30 frames per second

…and you can upload in one of these formats:

- MPEG4
- QuickTime
- AVI
- WMV
- DivX
- MPEG2
- RealMedia
- Flash

…and remember to Keep an aspect ratio of 4:3 for example:

- 640 x 480
- 480 x 360
- 800 x 600
…etc

If you need a transcoder then this free one may help (though not for begginers):

Hope this helps!
